:A. W. Stacy, who for the past year has been a sufferer with inflammatory rheumatism brought on by is grippe, died Sunday morning [[21 December, 1890]] after a hard fought battle for life. Mr. Stacy for the past two months was pronounced to be mending, but a recent relapse set him back and ultimately settled the question of life and death. He was buried yesterday afternoon in the Protestant cemetery. Mr. Stacy for some years past has been a resident of Custer county, and his death will be keenly felt by his many friends. - Daily Yellowstone Journal, December 23, 1890
