According to Walter Camp Notes, Lilly Library, Indiana University “Graham of I Troop lay between Calhoun and Keogh.” Of course Camp refers to the body of Graham being found (and presumably identified) between Calhoun Hill and the ‘Keogh sector,’ not literally between the lieutenant and the captain! Listed as CHAS. GRAHAM on the battle monument. Final Statement of Private Charles Graham signed by 1st Lieut. W.S. Edgerly, Commanding Company, at Fort Abraham Lincoln on 31 January 1877.
