Was a County Commissioner. At the same time, he took a railroad tie contract for the [[Northern Pacific Railroad]]. He tried to outfit a crew of 50-60 men at [[Miles and Strevell]] but they were out of plates and utensils. Strevell repeats the old line, attributing to Strader, "Why don't you make a list of what you do have, and I'll see if I can use any of it."
