[[18 Oct 1882]] The Journal [[rustler]] had a trick played on him. Mr Coates of [[J. J. Graham's store]] invited him in in the evening, treated him to cigars and had him sit on a chair that was rigged to collapse in many pieces, from which Becker struggled to free himself whle a large crowd gathered to "give him taffy". He paid for his cigars and left, muttering loudly.

[[19 Oct 1882]] E. H. Becker is the authorized carrier and collector for subscriptions to The Daily Journal. Mr. Becker will supply all persons in Miles City and Fort Keogh every morning before breakfast, with the paper at 50 cents per week.
