Helen R. Rankin (1854-1925) was the first wife of the [[State Reform School]] director, [[A. J. Hylton]] and matron of the same school. After her husband resigned, they either separated or divorced. She kept his name and died a "widow", but he remarried twice. 1893: Assistant clerk at the Indiana Reform School for Boys, Plainfield, Indiana (where her future husband [[A. J Hylton]] worked). 1909-1912 (at least): Superintendent of Cornelia Memorial Orphan's Home in New Albany (Floyd County), Indiana. Helen died in 17 July 1925 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co. Ohio and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis (Marion County), Indiana.
