James B. Hawkins was the sheriff in 1893, involved in the search for [[Alvah Tilton]], the cowboy that killed [[James Pym]]. Hawkins was a trustee of the [[State Reform School]] 1897 to 1901, then the director around 1904, probably from 1901 as a successor to [[B. C. White]]. He married [[Nannie E. Watson]] of Hartford, CT Thursday evening, [[11 Oct 1888]], in the Presbyterian church, Rev. [T. C. Armstrong]] officiating.
