He lived in Iowa in from at least 1869 to at least 1878, when he married [[Emma C. Campbell]]. 1881 Eichhorn and his wife and son [[Arthur Eichhorn]] arrive in Miles City. Takes up homestead two miles east of Miles City "along present road to Country Club" (probably Haynes Ave), raising stock between Miles City and [[Log Creek]]. Winter of 1886, the blizzard kills off most of his stock. He raises a truck garden, peddling produce (fruits and vegetables) around Miles City in a horse drawn wagon. The irrigation ditch promises to benefit his operation, but takes many years to complete. He must have hauled a lot of water until then. One of the [[Eichhorn Brothers]].
