(Was this literal or figurative language?) * The politicians are quiet. * Several of our citizens are attending Unites State court at Bozeman (Judge Conger, presiding). * Madam Green will give a dancing soiree at her restaurant this evening. * Nice St. Paul celery, oysters and watermelons are received daily by express. * The valley ranchers are harvesting their potato crop, and a huge crop it is, too. * Meeting of the chess players at the [[Court House]] Saturday evening. * Connors, the Belle Fouche cattleman, has again made his appearance in this city. * A neat little house is going up on [[Fourth street]], near the bank of the Tongue River. * A gentleman is in the city, who is agitating the question of lighting Miles City by electricity. * The coal dealers are "bulls and bears" just now, and a raise in the price of feed is looked for. * There are a few cases of fever in town, but the physicians all report their patients as doing well. * Mr Peters, of Ohio, is having figures made on a two-story house to be erected at once in this city.
