(FYI...kite shape tracks were for horse races) $3.00 buys a first-class 8-day clock at [[Stein]], the jeweler's nickel clocks for 80 cents. An exciting foot race was reported to have been at [[Fort Keogh]] last evening between a soldier and a citizen, in which the soldier won. Boston - July 28 - There is a well authenticated rumor here that Edwin Booth is dying from the effects of too much smoking. Though he is aware that it is killing him, he cannot shake off the habit.
